Scenic Drone-Based Site Documentation

Problem: We were introduced to an engineer and fellow drone enthusiast from Pittsburgh Drone Masters, a local group we connect with regularly. The ask was to document the initial phase of a road project on the engineer's estate, located just on the border of Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Specifically, the goal was to capture the “before” footage of a rugged path that would later be transformed into a dedicated asphalt road, at which point we would return to capture the “after” footage.

Solution: Cloud Collective traveled to Claysville, PA, to capture high-quality aerial footage of the existing road and its surrounding landscape. We focused on documenting the rugged terrain in detail, utilizing both drone video and still photography to provide a comprehensive visual record of the area before construction began.

Result: Part 1 of the project—the “before” documentation—was a success, meeting all the client’s needs. The footage offered a unique aerial perspective of the road and its environment, which thrilled the client. The engineer was so impressed with our work that they are now exploring FPV flying through our Flight Club Academy.
